Blue Ant Cloud or On-Premises

Depending on your IT strategy and organizational requirements, you can use Blue Ant in the cloud or operate it within your own infrastructure.

Blue Ant Cloud

With the cloud solution, Hypergene is responsible for operating and updating the infrastructure. Blue Ant cloud systems are operated exclusively in Germany by Hetzner Online GmbH.

New Blue Ant versions are automatically made available a few days after release.

Your benefits:

  • Infrastructure operated by Hypergene

  • Hosting exclusively in Germany

  • Automatic deployment of new Blue Ant versions

  • No need to operate your own Blue Ant infrastructure

Blue Ant On-Premises

Alternatively, you can operate Blue Ant within your own IT infrastructure. This gives you control over the infrastructure, operations and the timing of updates.

New versions are provided as update packages in the protected customer area.

Your benefits:

  • Operation within your own infrastructure

  • Control over the technical environment

  • Your own timing for updates

  • Integration into existing operational processes

User Management & Single Sign-on

Blue Ant has its own user, role and permissions management and can also be integrated into existing identity and user structures.

For connecting directory services, Blue Ant supports LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory. Employee data, organizational units and user groups can be imported and synchronized regularly. LDAP or Active Directory can be used as the leading data source.

For single sign-on (SSO), Blue Ant supports, among others:

  • SAML 2.0

  • OpenID Connect

  • AD FS

  • Kerberos 5

  • Microsoft Entra ID

Existing authentication processes can therefore also be used to access Blue Ant.

Security & Data Protection

Blue Ant protects company and project data through technical and organizational security measures.

These include:

  • Differentiated role and permission structures

  • Encrypted data transmission via TLS 1.3 or TLS 1.2

  • Encryption of stored data in accordance with the current state of the art

  • An information security management system certified to ISO 27001

  • Annual penetration tests by external providers

Further information about our certified security and quality processes can be found in the Trust Center.

Backup & Recovery

Full backups are created daily for the Blue Ant Cloud. By default, these are retained for 14 days.

An optional retention period of 30 days and Point-in-Time Recovery (PITR) are also available.

For an on-premises installation, data backup is the customer’s responsibility and can be implemented in accordance with the company’s own backup and recovery strategy.

Updates & Development

Blue Ant is continuously developed further.

In the Blue Ant Cloud, new versions are automatically installed a few days after release.

For on-premises installations, update packages are provided in the protected customer area. This allows companies to decide for themselves when a new version is installed in their own infrastructure.

Information about current versions and new features can be found in our Product Information and Release Notes.
