Integrations & Interfaces

Integrate Blue Ant flexibly into your existing IT landscape

Blue Ant can be flexibly connected to existing enterprise applications, data sources and IT processes. Various integration options are available – from REST API and SOAP web services to Blue Ant Connect, webhooks and standardized import and export formats.

For commonly used systems such as Jira and Azure Boards, Blue Ant offers specially designed integrations. Individual connections, for example to ERP, finance or HR systems, can also be implemented.

This allows you to continue using your existing systems while bringing together relevant data in Blue Ant for centralized project, resource and portfolio management. No need to replace established tools or disrupt existing workflows.

REST API – connect Blue Ant to your own applications

The REST API enables Blue Ant to be integrated into existing applications and automated processes.

Via the API, information from various areas of Blue Ant can be made available and processed. This includes, among other things:

  • Projects

  • Programs and portfolios

  • Employees and master data

  • Working times

  • Project KPIs

The REST API is continuously being expanded and is particularly suitable for modern integration scenarios and individual applications.

SOAP web services – comprehensive access to Blue Ant

In addition to the REST API, SOAP web services are available. They provide access to a large proportion of the functions that are also available through the Blue Ant user interface.

This enables existing integrations and more extensive custom interfaces to Blue Ant to be implemented.

REST API and SOAP web services therefore give companies different options for integrating Blue Ant into their existing system landscape.

Blue Ant Connect – flexible integrations without a rigid standard interface

No two system landscapes are the same. Blue Ant Connect therefore allows individual import and export processes to be configured and automated.

Blue Ant Connect supports different data sources and formats, for example:

  • JSON

  • CSV

  • Excel

  • Databases

  • LDAP

  • SFTP

This enables data to be exchanged between Blue Ant and other enterprise applications – for example ERP, finance or HR systems.

Depending on the use case, employee data, project information, working times, costs or other relevant company data can be integrated into existing processes.

Connect Jira with Blue Ant

Jira Connect enables Jira and Blue Ant to be connected. This allows operational tasks in Jira to be combined with higher-level project and resource planning in Blue Ant.

For example:

  • Working times recorded in Jira can be transferred to Blue Ant as working times

  • Remaining effort from Jira can be taken into account in Blue Ant as estimated effort

  • Activities from Blue Ant can be made available as issues in Jira

Teams can therefore continue working in Jira while Blue Ant uses the information for overarching project, resource and portfolio management.

Connect Azure Boards with Blue Ant

Azure Boards can also be connected to Blue Ant via a specially designed integration.

Data from Azure Boards can be used for overarching planning and management in Blue Ant. This connects operational development processes with project and multi-project management.

Microsoft Project and Blue Ant

Project information can be exchanged between Microsoft Project and Blue Ant.

This means existing project plans can continue to be used, and information from Microsoft Project can be imported into Blue Ant or made available from Blue Ant.

Import and export data

Not every integration requires a direct interface. Blue Ant therefore also supports data exchange via established file formats.

These include, among others:

Excel

Data can be imported or exported for further processing.

CSV

Structured data can be exchanged and processed across systems.

XRechnung and ZUGFeRD

Blue Ant supports electronic invoice formats for standardized digital invoice exchange.

Webhooks – respond to events in Blue Ant

With webhooks, external systems can automatically be informed about specific events in Blue Ant.

Blue Ant can transmit configurable JSON data to other applications for this purpose. Webhooks are currently available for events relating to, among other things:

  • Projects

  • Project resources

  • Invoices

This enables event-driven processes without an external system having to continuously poll Blue Ant for changes.

Integrate Blue Ant into your enterprise systems

Blue Ant’s integration options are not limited to individual products. APIs, Blue Ant Connect, webhooks and standardized exchange formats can also be used to connect individual system landscapes.

Typical scenarios include:

ERP & Finance

Connection of systems such as SAP, DATEV, Sage or Microsoft Dynamics for transferring relevant financial and project data.

HR & Organization

Import and synchronization of employee and organizational data.

Project and development tools

Connection of operational systems such as Jira or Azure Boards with overarching project, portfolio and resource management in Blue Ant.

Custom enterprise applications

Connection of your own systems via REST API, SOAP web services, Blue Ant Connect or webhooks.
