How ISB Rheinland-Pfalz Increases Transparency and Control in Its Project Portfolio with Blue Ant

Before introducing Blue Ant, ISB relied on an internally developed tool that offered neither transparency nor reliable project control. As part of a collaboration among state development banks, the decision was made to implement the project management software Blue Ant. The goal: to manage projects more efficiently, maintain an overview of the entire project landscape, and create a shared data foundation for management and project teams.

“The key to successful projects is communication – not the tool alone,” emphasises Alexander Oos, Project Manager in the PMO at ISB.

“But Blue Ant provides the transparency and management tool we need to identify bottlenecks early and have the right conversations.”

ISB now uses Blue Ant in several key areas of project and portfolio management:

• Project transparency – Status, progress, and budget always visible to management and project teams

• Standardised status reports – Consistent information for executives and stakeholders

• Resource management – Early planning for the optimal use of IT as a bottleneck resource

• Portfolio management – Clear overview and prioritisation of ongoing and planned projects

• One of the major benefits lies in enhanced collaboration between project managers and stakeholders.

Unified Gantt charts and clear project reports provide a shared understanding, making discussions more productive and decisions more traceable.

Initial scepticism toward the new system quickly turned into broad acceptance, as teams recognised the tangible improvements in transparency and coordination.
